My Little Rascals

I don’t know…sometimes I look at my dogs and my natural eyes might be  seeing one thing, but my mind's eye is seeing something altogether different…more like this...

Or like this...
natural eye

mind's eye

Maybe I just know them to

I'm with stupid

What Lil Ricky looked like and I pretty much felt like yesterday after I locked us out of the car in the parking lot at the local feed store :/
But I thank God for having Kids who can break into a car…
I think…lol
Anyway it all turned out just fine and was just another opportunity for the Lord to show me He’s got me…

A Very Special Day!

Well today is a very special day Lil Ricky, and because of that I think anything can happen. You see today is my Mommy’s Birthday and I decided to blog all about what an amazing woman she is!
What makes my Mom so amazing is not just all the Mom things she has done through the years… from kissing boo boos to praying me through my prodigal time.  Or just her Mom comforts, like… big hugs, a warm meal, a perfectly timed phone call …a word of wisdom when nothing is making sense in my upside down world. Or the really big how she could stand with her grief stricken daughter feet from her husband’s body as we waited for what seemed like hours for the coroner to get there before they would let me near him. I can’t even imagine what the last few months have been like for my Mom. To not only loss her beloved son- in- law whom she loved and who loved her dearly…but then also watch her own child go through such heartbreak.  I know she has pushed aside her own grief to be there for me.  I just want you to know Mom I see.  And yes all these things make my Mom so amazing but really what makes my Mom the most amazing to me is how she loves Jesus.   Because her steadfast love for Him has spoken louder and taught me more and is why I know I’m going to make it…because she has taught me through her actions to keep my eyes on Him.
Mom may you have a beautiful, blessed…

And may the sky be the limit this year for all God has for you!
I love you so very much Mom!

Angel's Wing

I always tell Shannie when we open the door in the morning and the storm door glass is frozen with sparkling ice. That it’s the print from the angel's wing who was guarded us through the night.

Wow that was some BIG angel last night!

Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

Contentment in the now

A day of rest for me …which I had yesterday… often consists of just being able to observe my dogs in their silliness and yes sometime even in their suffering ...and then just being able to give them extra comforts because they have all my attention.  Like Mr. Goober who I found at one point in the day just sitting in his cage. I think because it was up against the heater and all the baths are just getting to the poor fellow. I gave him lots of his favorite treats…
his little spirit just looks broken to me right now.

Richard and I could sit for hours and just watch the dogs. I guess like people sit and watch a fish tank to relax this was our comfort. In fact on days he was home from work and I would try to use some of that time to get extra stuff done around the house as he watched the pack. Often while I was busying myself with something he would call for me and say…Hon, hon come here quick!… You want a picture of this! Although 9 times out of 10 I already had 20 pictures of whatever he was showing me I always got a kick out of how much he enjoyed the dogs and ended up just getting sucked right in with him. So that’s what I did yesterday I took pictures of the dogs just being dogs. I just enjoyed them J
I guess in a way it is like a Mother with many children. You can get so busy taking care of their needs you don’t always take the time to enjoy the moments. Since Richard past away I’ve learned to do that more than ever.
Like this little ambush in the hall, which I got a big giggle out of.

And this shot which may not look like anything to you, but was a shocker to me that Lil Ricky was sleeping in the same bed with Binny…(the white dog). Because for some reason he does not like her and normally attacks when she’s within 3 feet of him.

Oh but she’s keeping an eye on

This one always make me smile when I have found the little munchkin has invaded Jasper's Kingdom yet again and is snoozing away…

…but he’s completely in the dark about it …giggle.

So as I was taken pictures of the dogs just being dogs I caught this old girl just observing right along with me. Yes even dogs know how to stop and enjoy the moment.

All you really have is…now. Yesterdays gone…tomorrows not promised…so may you find contentment in the now.

I love days I have nowhere to go and nothing to do…well besides the normal care of the pack that is. These days seem to be few and far between since Richard went home.  But today is one of them!  J
It has been brutally cold here. When I woke up I would never have thought I would be soooooo happy to see it was 12 degrees out.
Yesterday it was -1.
So our goal today is just to snuggle and rest….and to stay warm.
Have a blessed day everyone!

Rubber duckie where are youuu

Mr. Goober is taken a medicated bath which he has to do every day for 2 weeks…vets orders. He’s the guy I affectionately call “The boy in the bubble”. He was essentially born with a severely suppressed immune system and it’s been a 5 year battle keeping him well. And of course this is also why no one wanted to adopt him. So he’s basically sanctuaried here He's a Pit Bull/ Pug mix...yes really... I saw the Mom and Dad.

He’s such an enduring little guy…because he has to leave the shampoo on for 10 minutes.
Try as he might to get it off.
Shake, Shake, Shake!

And since we are giving baths…guess who’s next?

Actually Lil Ricky has become accustom to baths. I give her one once a week.

Accustom yes…but not happy about it.
Wow, if looks could

But one thing she does love is...

…the hairdryer!
In fact when I’m blow-drying my own hair she comes running she loves it so much.

I started doing my own grooming because I couldn’t find a groomer that would let me stay while she was being groomed.  So I did what I always do when I want to learn something. I go to my favorite university…YTU (You Tube University).  You can find a video on just about anything you want to learn on good ol' You Tube. I feel brilliant after an hour of watching how to videos. LOL

Ok Mums, I’m sleepy now after all that.

So that’s bath day at the ranch…Ok 2 down 16 more to go...
Calgon take me away...

Boot scootin cutie

I came up with this idea for a photo shoot as I was lying in bed the other night about to fall asleep.
So I emailed it to myself from my phone so I wouldn’t forget.
Modern technology it’s a beautiful thang!

Well the next day I got everything set up and Lil Ricky ready and then took a deep breath as I was slipping her into the boot… because I knew if she wasn’t going for it the whole idea was out the window.

But in fact she settled right down and got so comfy from the get go I had to get the treaties out. Not to keep her in the boot but to keep her from falling asleep on me. It must have just felt like a big old cozy leather hug to her…lol

She just really didn’t mind at all.

Anyway…  I had a purpose for this picture. And no it wasn’t just to anguish my puppy…lol.
I think I’m different then most folks in that I don’t buy a picture frame for a picture that I already have.
I buy frames and wait for that perfect picture to be taken…and then I go awwww this will be perfect for that picture frame I bought 2 years ago.
I think I love picture frames as much as I do photos.
Because It’s like the finally touch that pulls it all together.

So at the end of it all…I got the shot I wanted …Ricky got her cozy snooze… and you all got a blog post I hope you enjoyed

And I was even reminded that God used "our frame" as the finishing touch to His beloved creation…

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!

The man in my bed is a green eyed monster

Oh my Jazzy man is finding his world
turned upside down yet again.
My bedroom has become Jasper's kingdom.
Mostly because no other dogs can get into it due to the gate.
Well that was until LITTLE Ricky came along.
She is so scrawny she can fit right through the bars.

So whenever I go into the room during the day and make him come out of his makeshift batcave to go potty…which he’s already not happy about...however now it's even more so when he looks down and sees Ricky in the bed below …he gets himself so worked up that someone has invaded his kingdom.

He does not like anything in his world to change and even more so since Daddy died.
He is such a creature of habit.

And I sure love this little man that lives on my bed! J

Even though he’s a green eyed monster…lol

Treasures of darkness

Last night I just had to pull over in my car and watch the sun go down because it was just so breathtaking.

I’m going to call this angels wings.

And just as I thought the God show was over …this flock of geese took flight.
How often at the point of darkness, when we think all is lost, are we really about to take flight?
When we think the sun has set on all our dreams and plans God is saying…no I’m going to teach you how to find the treasures in the darkness.

I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
Isaiah 54:3

It was a beautiful God moment for me…as my little buddy slept curled up on my lap.
How awesome it always is when we stop in the middle of our busyness and allow God to show us His splendor.
I drove away in the dark feeling completely refreshed. :)
