The last time I posted a blog I thought Kiki was on the
road to recovery. However she took a turn
for the worst and off to the vet we were. Turns out she had a pretty severe
case of colitis.
She went from 8 lbs to 6 in less than 2 weeks. You can
see her little ribs in this picture. :(
But as you can also see, the pack is giving her plenty of
TLC. It’s like a puppy intensive care
unit they have going.
Because her sister Abby was showing the same symptoms,
just not as severe, the vet thought it best we treat the whole pack. But to all of them, they just think it’s an extra
treat of pumpkin…Because that’s were mommy hides their meds ;)
So it has been an adventurous start to the New Year.
However we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, finally. :)
Mom Kim here - been absent a bit but glad I stopped by today. That puppy ICU looks so sweet - so comfy too. My Shiloh (the big macho guy for a Beagle) has problems with arthritis/degenerative disk disease - the cold weather doesn't help either - his little sis, Diva Shasta, seems to be his nurse and will sometimes lay next to him, close, as a way of comfort. I think it is so neat the way our dogs are there for each other.
ReplyDeleteHope and pray all your doggies are on the mend now.
Mom Kim
Yes, I always say we could learn much from dogs :)
DeleteThanks for your prayers Kim...means so much!
Oh no, we hate to hear that the pack is getting the moo-moo! Poor little Kiki. We know that once she is feeling better, you'll fatten her right up and all will be well. They have the best Nurse in town, so no doubt everyone will be healthy real soon. We've got our paws crossed for quick recoveries for one and all.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kim
Awww thank you Kim! Everyone is doing wonderful. Vet will be coming out to the house next week and I believe we will all get a clean bill of health....well they will ...I'll just get a bill....lol
