Egg on your face.

Determined to come up with something for “egg”… I grabbed Mrs. Beasley and some eggs and went into the studio.  I was not coming out till I came up with something.

I cracked and emptied an egg for an idea I had... that totally did not work.

And even though she wasn’t having anything to do with my ideas… I’m so glad it was Beasley I chose. Because as I was photographing her I saw something I have never seen before…the white on her face is the shape of an egg!
And I did NOT Photoshop this …that is her face.

Isn’t that EGGcellent…lol

Macro

Stands for photomacrography.

Which is an extremely up close shot.

The only other thing I can say about this shot is...
I loved it so much I printed it and framed it.

Not my (toy) friend!

Well I was going to use this neat vintage toy I have along with Lil Ricky for the word toy. But Ricky was so flipping afraid of it I couldn’t get her to come near it.  So I was going to scratch the whole thing altogether ….but after looking through the pictures and laughing so hard at how scared she was I had to use one.
(I know I’m such a mean Mommy).

It just shocked me she was so afraid of it, because she isn’t afraid of anything! Not even the Pit Bulls. In fact she runs right up on Jebediah’s face and jumps on it.  Well it looks like little’s Miss Queen Bee Ricky met her match.

Canine (Toothbrush) Wear

I have to say this was the hardest word thus far into my dog days of summer photo challenge.  I even called my daughter and said
“if you come up with any idea for toothbrush let me know”.
Yes, I just admitted to trying to cheat….lol

Years ago, before people started brushing their dogs teeth…this picture would have been so out of the box.

And if the word had been, toothbrush “holder”…this shot would have been it hands down!

I’m sure you have all heard the expression

“Necessity is the Mother of invention”

Well it became just that.

My need for a photo drove me to invent a whole new line of dog wear made from toothbrushes boiled in water and reshaped into doggie headbands.

I will call it
"Canine” Toothbrush Wear…hehehe

 Happy Sunday everyone and remember...
SUNDAY IS FUN DAY!

The (Tree) of "long" life

Our enchanted tree that turns all dogs into Dachshund.

Now you know the secret to why we have so many Doxies  ;)

Bear (feet)

I have not only spent hours and hours and years and years working with dogs.  I have also in that time studied every inch of my dogs.  And I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the photo challenge word feet.
So my willing subject Kiki (for lots of belly rubbings) is going to demonstrate what I love about doggie feet.

But in order to see what I really want you to see in this photo…I had to crop it and turn it upside down

Yes, I love that every little puppy carries around his own widdle teddy bear everywhere they go. :)

Now go look at your doggies feet and check it out for yourself….cause I know you wanna….lol

Self Portrait

Day 1 of dog days of Summer photo challenge...and good old Jebediah makes it looks so easy in this shot.

However, I’ll tell you this… having a photo idea and communicating it to a dog that has no idea, is always a challenge. And I find much different from just photo journaling their lives.

Jebb was very obedient, and jumped right up on the seat for me…but as you can see...he was just notttt quite getting it….and when I told him to turn he just turned his head…lol

When I did get him to face the camera…I couldn’t get him to look at it because now he realizes, Mommy has treats!  And he won’t take his eyes off me.  I tried placing a cookie on the lens…nope that didn’t work.

So I came up with this very “high tech” photography trick.
Behind me on a table there were a bunch of plastic forks. So I picked them up and threw then in the direction I wanted him to look. Worked like a charm.
Children don’t try this at home. ;)

Jebediah is now looking to contract a stunt double…he finds working for Mommy a bit too dangerous for his liking…hahahaha
