Shannie and I laughed so hard at this picture this weekend. To us she looks like one of the Chipmunks!  

I hope that starts your week off with a smile.

We had a wonderful joy filled weekend. Shannie was in the Christmas play at church.

She also did a special dance number with her bff. 

I took a a gazillion pictures …image that!

But I have to say the ones I will treasure the most are these next two.

This is a glimpse of the face Shannie was making because she was having a wardrobe malfunction.

What I love the most about these is they capture what I so adore about children.  They are not out to impress anyone.

And if their undies are riding up their butt they are going to take care of it no matter who's watching or snapping pictures...lol

 I laughed as hard at these as I did "Ricky the redneck chipmunk".

She will too until I'm still whip 'em out when she's a teenager... hahahahahahaha!

I kill pesky dust bunnies and drag them back to my bed.

Mommy said she has been feeding the dust bunnies way to much lately and they are  multiplying like wabbits so she really appreciates my help.

Naughty List

I chewed the lid off this can so I could get to the yummies inside…Mommy now says I have popcorn farts.

Glory is really working hard to get on the naughty list this year!

Survivors

I do believe as a society we over humanize dogs. Like believing they are spiteful so that’s why they chewed our favorite pair of shoes …or they know they did something wrong, that’s why they look guilty.  Dogs don’t process like we do and we often give them human characteristics.

I do however believe they grieve and I often wonder if Jasper is having a “I really miss Daddy day” when I find him doing things like resting on Daddy’s pillow?

I wonder if he dreams of Daddy too?

Never have I seen a dog love a man like this dog loved Richard. I can’t even say I’ve ever had a bond with a dog like they had.

And

I never would have believed this dog could survive without him….then again I never thought I could either.

Yeah little buddy I miss him too…come on lets go for a walk…

Sweet Dreams!

I actually dream about Richard a lot lately. What I find unusual about all theses dreams is I'm never amazed or shocked to see him. I guess I miss him so much in my awake world it's weird to me that I don't jump up and down or go mad with excitement when I see him in my dreams. But instead it's like my mind forgets he is gone in my sleep and when he is in my dreams we are just doing our normal things together...working around the house or sitting together talking and laughing or playing with the dogs...just casual everyday life things....Like he's not gone. It's actually very comforting....and I wake up with so much peace from theses dreams. I don't ever want him to fade from my memory and I love remember him this way because the pain isn't with it like it is when I think of him during waken hours. Those thoughts are always followed by the thought that he is not here and that brings the pain. So this gives a whole new meaning to sweet dreams for me....and I pray they last forever :)

Unlike this picture of the dogs waiting at the gate for me to open it so they can go night, night. In my dreams I live like someone left the gate open :)

Fashionista

I have found in my years of rescue nothing goes together better then a load of laundry dumped onto the waterbed straight from a hot drying and a puppy.  But today was a first. Lil Ricky like ever puppy before her lunged right into the warm fabric cloud. However when I got to the bottom of my folding this is where I found her…

...inside the pant leg of a pair of jeans.

I believe we found a new fashion...
