When Richard was alive he had this silly habit of
giving us Indian names. From time to time
that name could change with a life event or if he found a personal trait he
wanted to make fun of. Like for instance.
When our daughter became a teenager, and
like any teenager if you asked her to do something she would say “I don’t
wanna”. So her Indian name became Chief
I-don’t-wanna.
Richard
however didn’t find the name game so funny when I turned the tables on him
after he fell out of a tree with a chainsaw, and got himself a nice helicopter ride
to the hospital. I started called him “Runs-with-chainsaw”. And he affectionately started calling me “Falls-with-fist”
…lol
So until something happened this weekend I haven’t
even though about any of that.
Shannie, like she often does, showered the house with
little love notes. But she did something different this time. Whatever they were placed on she made the endearment
tie into that object. And some of them were just downright hysterical to me.
Like the one
she put on her shoe that read…
“You are like my shoe without you I can’t walk”
Or the one on the AC remote …which said…
“You make
it cold but I still love you”
But my all time favorite... and the one that is now going to be my new Indian
name… because I KNOW Richard would have used it to tease me... is this
one…
And now looking at this picture I’m so glad she didn’t
use the little boy plaque behind the soap dispenser……Lord only knows what she
would have come up with for that! ….LOL
So everyone my new Indian name is now
Chief Soft as
Soap….How.
My mom gives all the new babies nicknames also...our newest baby grandmonster is called Baby Bean.

Well I like baby bean for a baby grandmonster...lol
DeleteThat's so funny! Yes we agree you are very lucky that Shannie didn't use that little boy to come up with a new name.
