Windows
People everywhere love windows ~Bill Gates
Ok, so maybe literal windows is not what Bill Gates meant by that
quote. However for me it fits. I love
windows! If I could have a house of all
windows I would. These shots are the
view from the windows in my studio. When
I was finished putting the last coat of paint on it I just stood there and cried. One because I’m living my dream
and two because I’m living my nightmare simultaneously.
But as I started looking through each window I felt the windows of my
heart opening up to take in all the beauty God has surrounded me with….and I
wiped my tears and snapped theses pictures. Yes when God shuts a door all He
has to do for me is give me a window….and it doesn’t even have to be open.
There comes a
time in a man’s life when to get where he has to go…if there are no doors or
windows he walks through a wall. ~ Bernard Malamud

It's Independence Day!
Today is a special independence day for me. I will be
putting the last coat of paint on the studio…and I’m so excited to use it that I had
to snap some pictures of my favorite subjects for the 4th of July.
The studio is a natural light studio so one wall is a big
window. The pictures were shot with God’s big flash in the sky…a.k.a. the
sun. I like using and reflecting the natural light rather than using flash
lighting, I think it gives a nice soft look to photos.
Well if it's the home of the free…pay up lady.
Yes sir...Lil Ricky is
Paid and Full
Have a BLESSED, safe and HAPPY 4th of July
everyone!

Nailed it
I saw this sweet idea on Pinterest I thought would be a cute
touch for my studio.
Taking some plain white bathroom tiles, super sliders, mod podge
and some photos.
I gave them an aged look in Photoshop.... This
is optional.
(Love this shot, it's down the road from my house.)
Put them all together and what do you get?
Drink coasters that look like old Polaroid
pictures!
It was as easy as shaking a Polaroid to develop. :)
(Oh, sliders go on back of tiles to keep from scuffing your tables)

Kingdom living
When you’re a Kings kid you can’t help it…even in
the sandbox you will build a kingdom.
…Behold the kingdom of God is within you.
Luke
17:21
…Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the
Kingdom of God…

My new Indian name.
When Richard was alive he had this silly habit of
giving us Indian names. From time to time
that name could change with a life event or if he found a personal trait he
wanted to make fun of. Like for instance.
When our daughter became a teenager, and
like any teenager if you asked her to do something she would say “I don’t
wanna”. So her Indian name became Chief
I-don’t-wanna.
Richard
however didn’t find the name game so funny when I turned the tables on him
after he fell out of a tree with a chainsaw, and got himself a nice helicopter ride
to the hospital. I started called him “Runs-with-chainsaw”. And he affectionately started calling me “Falls-with-fist”
…lol
So until something happened this weekend I haven’t
even though about any of that.
Shannie, like she often does, showered the house with
little love notes. But she did something different this time. Whatever they were placed on she made the endearment
tie into that object. And some of them were just downright hysterical to me.
Like the one
she put on her shoe that read…
“You are like my shoe without you I can’t walk”
Or the one on the AC remote …which said…
“You make
it cold but I still love you”
But my all time favorite... and the one that is now going to be my new Indian
name… because I KNOW Richard would have used it to tease me... is this
one…
And now looking at this picture I’m so glad she didn’t
use the little boy plaque behind the soap dispenser……Lord only knows what she
would have come up with for that! ….LOL
So everyone my new Indian name is now
Chief Soft as
Soap….How.
