It's in the genes

Wake up little pinecone
The rain has fallen and the air is fresh
And someday you will be a tree
The tallest tree in the land

Wake up and see for yourself
The soil is rich and the land grows under your feet
But most of all, my little pinecone
Expect great things from yourself

Wake up and see for yourself
See how the universe plays in the branches
While mountain glaciers melt in sun

Shake the snow from your beautiful head
Wake up from your peaceful nap and see
How this is your destiny.
~Richard Fuerst

Shannon wanted to have a picture taken of herself holding a pinecone. She got the idea from a photo of her aunt that was taken years ago. I guess we just started a new family tradition.

It was a double doggie yard sale find kind of weekend.

My memorial weekend yard sale finds. Even though we got rained out and had to call it an early yard sale day we still found some unique doggie finds! Yes believe it or not I collect anything dog...hehehehe

Someone paid 45 bucks "each" for these!
I paid 6 bucks for "both"...I know I'm the last of the big spenders....LOL

And I love these double doggie glass paper weights :)

Memorial Day...

A reminder to remember and honor all our heroes.

Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand,
the spines of others are often stiffened.

Dirty job…

Girls were you digging in the dirt again?
Yes Mommy…but we have a very good reason…you see a chipmunk blazed a trail across the yard and we was making sure that varmint was gone!
Dirty job…but somebody's gotta do it.
But no worries we got Jebediah keeping watch now…

But I was good Mommy...

Mom...what's a brown noser...and why they calling me dat?

I'm still a work in progress I guess

I would have a really hard time drinking out of something that looks like a urinal.

After reading this side I guess I wouldn't have been allowed anyway....after my last not so innocent thought.

Well this little guy looks like an innocent heart...have at it pilgrim.

Oh well maybe not...

I took these photos on a visit to Bethlehem Pa this week.
Seems like everywhere I go I find a dog or one finds me. This little fella was out for a stroll with his daddy. I have more pictures of strangers dogs then I know what to do with. I'm just compelled to photograph them.... however I will never be compelled to drink out of that urinal...LOL

Do you speak autocorrect?

I have notice a whole vocabulary is started to form in my life from autocorrect malfunctions. I even gave one of my friends her nickname from a funny autocorrect. The latest word added to my new language is “ ferret” It was the autocorrect for “grrrrrr” which I texted to my husband when I was complaining about something…Yes I complain once in a blue moon.

I mean "snout"....damn you autocorrect...ferret!

Papa said there'd be days like this...

Earlier this year at our church a word came from the Lord through some of the children. It was that this year we were going to have "Days of Joy"  Days so filled with joy we would be overwhelmed. So when I read this scripture today it reminded me of that word.

This face is joy to me :)

May this day be the begining of  DAYS OF JOY for you!
