Happy campers once again.

Gwenie was missing her girlie so much we decided to bring her along for the ride when it was time to pick Shannie up at camp. Here is the blessed reunion...

Grandbaby was able to shop at the camps store...

She picked the cutest toy for her and Gwendolyn. We didn’t know what it played till we got home and placed batteries in it. We all LOL because it was so perfect! It’s now their song J

Yes…we are all happy campers once again!

It's how you raise them...

but to raise them properly you need to understand the breed.
The real facts on Pit Bulls
“Pit Bulls are very aggressive about showing their affection.”
"It's true that Pit Bulls grab and hold on But NOT your arm.your heart"
"When it comes to Pit Bulls the beast is often the two-legged animal at the other end of the leash."
"The only thing vicious about my Pit Bull is his gas."
I asked God for a walking buddy and he gave me a Pit Bull. :)

The love bug and the land piranha

These boys could not be more different…and I’m not talking about their size.  Jebediah is 65 pounds of pure sweetness…a total love bug.  Binny Jr is…well one of my friends said it best…”3 pounds and 2 1/2 of it is teeth”.   Binny man has had a taste of every one of my friends and family. I’m the only one he has not bit…and I’m also probable the only one that loves him …LOL.   The biggest problem is he is so tiny and so cute everyone wants to touch him…and that's were always goes bad.  I need to make him a little sign that says. “Look but don’t touch”. Actually it wouldn’t help anyway because he loves the taste of ankles. When you’re not looking….he is like a land piranha and runs up on people…and chomp, chomp, chomp before they even know what hit them…he is such a little stinker. But like I said… I love him.

This photo of the Binster nestled in the crook of Daddy's arm is not the greatest but it gives you a good idea how tiny our land piranha is.

Here's an update on the pouty little puppy.

No doubt...

I married the most patient man on the face of the earth.
“He that can have patience can have what he will.”

Benjamin Franklin

However he really needs to get his eyes checked. The other day I asked him to go outside and inspect what the dogs were barking at... he informed me it was a poopy. My replay to that was Why in the world would the dogs be barking at a turd?!On closer inspection the turd started to walk...oh thats why they are barking...its a walking turd...or this!

The Family Fido Tree

I love collecting vintage family photos that have our furry family members in them.

I also like to find fun uses for them …like these pictures I grouped together along with some vintage dog licenses we uncovered in a family members attic a few years back.

Recently I expanded my collection to "stuffed" family fidos because these are just too stinkin cute!

But one of our most exciting finds was that we were able to trace our “Family Fido Tree” all the way back to Grandma Moses!

I know it is uncanny how much she looks like our Granddaughter and her dog…isn’t it!  ;)
(Giggle)

Quite often the easiest family member to get along with is the dog.

A winged messenger.

Found this glorious creature on the porch this morning. :)
"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities —his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:20

This glorious creature is just waiting for his treat...hehe.
Have a blessed day everyone!

You only live once...

But if you do it right once is enough.

Some may call it...
old age...
I call it...

I love researching our family genealogy. I have found so many family members I would love to have known better, this Great Uncle being one of them. I would love to ask him what it was like to know this beautiful woman. I hope to live my life in such a way that the next generations will find some value in it and want to remember me. With this age of technology and things like blogging it has become much easier to leave your story. My prayer is somehow, someday when I’m long gone my life will still be impacting my family linage in a positive way.
Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

God can you stop bowling now?

When I was a kid I was so afraid of thunder and lightning storms that my parents in trying to comfort me told me that silly story that it’s just God bowling with the Angels.  Although it didn’t bring me total comfort I did believe it was the true…. and one stormy night soon after I recall lying in bed saying “God can you stop bowling now ….Pleasssss! “  Well like every child I grew up and realized not everything Mom and Dad said was really the truth…(ie:  Santa and the Easter Bunny ) But I actually grew to love thunder and lightning storms very much. Until that is, I had a pack of dogs! Unlike children who might buy a silly story to calm them down, some of our dogs are inconsolable.  So the minute the weather bug goes off to alert of a pending storm the TV’s go way up the AC get turned on high for the sound of the fan and I’m on pins and needles hoping this time it will work…but of course it doesn’t.  So my normal pretty quiet (believe it or not even with a pack of dogs) life just dissipates.  For me sitting around and enjoying the rumblings of an afternoon storm is something I don’t get to enjoy any longer.  The pictures below are some of the dogs trying to get some comfort from our granddaughter during one such storm.

However…we do have a few dogs that are not phased whatsoever…like Mrs. Beasley who is in the photo below, which was taken during that very same storm.

Somewhere over the rainbow...is my heart.

I know I already posted today, however when I looked at the calender I realized its July 19th…  A date my heart never will forget because when I see it I feel a familiar dull pain that is still there after all these years. I wrote in a past blog about what I call a heart dog . Well Binny was my first heart dog.  Today is the 6th year anniversary of Binny’s bridge day. He is the reason we rescue dogs today.  I am a true believer that animals go to heaven…people can argue all day about what the bible does or does not say about animals going to heaven… but if God is as loving and heaven is as wonderful as I believe it is….then my animals are there waiting for me J
We got Binny at a pet store. Unfortunately we knew nothing about puppy mills and where puppies at pet stores come from, but we had 6 heart breaking years to get educated. He came to us when he was 4 months old at 1 lb 4 oz. He was a very quiet and calm little puppy. Looking back now I realize that should have been the first sign something was not right. When he was finally diagnosed with an inoperable liver shunt our hearts had been stolen. But with good vet care a special diet and of course the kindness of God he lived for 6 years and blessed our lives with so much joy. He was always frail and needed lots of care but we would have done it forever and spent every dime we had. Sadly his little body could no longer hang on and he passed away on July 19th 2006 and took our hearts with him. This is what’s on his grave stone and it says it all…. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. Binny we MISS you every minute of every day. Give Jesus a big wet nose kiss for Mommy, Daddy and the Pack.
He always had a half shaved leg in most pictures from all his surgeries.
Below... A wonderful woman made this inch high stuffed Binny for me...we call it his "minny me" LOL...  I treasure that silly thing.
Thank you blog world for letting me share my heart ...it helps :)

Humpty Dumpty...taste like chicken

I always get so excited when I find a farmers market in my travels.  This year it’s been tough for the fresh local produce because of the lack of rain.  So you can image how delighted I was when I came across all this at a little roadside farmers market.
Even found some raw honey!
Mr. Barnabas was also enjoying a big old wiffy of all the freshness J

Don't you even think about it Mr. !

Oh, I promise Mommy,  you can trust me.

Might as well go and enjoy it now you little stinker.
Well at least you share.

Sorry Mr. Humpty Dumpty…I really wish we could put you back together again. :/

Anywho...I have also been enjoying some yummy meals out of those goodies...not just the dogs. The peaches are so perfect...I had one with the raw honey and some lemon yogurt we get from a local farm.
(It makes me feel like I'm having dessert for breakfast...hehe)
And one of my favorites..."avocado chicken salad"

He satisfies your body with precious things; your youth is renewed like the eagle. Psalm 103:5

Have a blessed day everyone!

My new flower pot

Had a full blood analysis health screen done and found out I’m really healthy! (Thank you Jesus) To celebrate, my sweet husband gave me this.

Only problem is it oozes such cuteness I want to use it as a planter and park it on the front lawn.
However the sweet hubby would ring my bell if I did that.
But no one can stop me from using it for a photo shoot with one of the puppy's...hehehe :)
