All Grown Up Now

This is our beautiful Sweatpea….but we never call her that.  Somehow she got the nickname Whoy (pronounced who-e) and it stuck.  She’s a 3 year old Piebald Dachshund and one of our own personal dogs.  You can find her most days perched up on the arm of the couch taking in her kingdom. She’s really quite full of herself…and she knows how to work those puppy dog eyes on us all.

Life doesn't always go as you planned...sometimes your just the wrong toad.

Hi Glory here....I need your help...
Foster Mommy said there must be a wonderful home waiting for me that don't have little white fluffy dogs that tempt me to eat them for snackies. She said it wouldn't be fair for me to live here and have to stay locked in another room away from everyone. She wants me to live in a home were I can truly be part of the family. Foster Mommy cry's when she thinks about me leaving so that's why I thought I will help her find me the perfect forever home so she will see how happy I am and not be sad for me anymore.

The above is an adoption add we posted for you can see things don't always turn out as we hope. We sure would have loved for our home to be her final stop in life.  Being in rescue you deal with a lot of disappointment...the hardest one's being the dogs that don't live to get a second chance at a "happy ever after". So as sad as this is for our hearts we know Glory will still have her "happy ever after"...she just needs to find the right toad :)

Let the hugging begin

This is the first time our granddaughter was able to hug and touch Glory now that she is done with her mange treatment.

It was bliss for all :)

We made our decision about Glory and decided to start looking for a home to adopt her to. Now that I have her with all the pack it seems overwhelming to her at times and I just believe she would do better in a home that has less dogs ….This was a very hard decision to make and I will take all the time I need to find her the perfect home. We will keep you posted as we look for Glory's perfect forever home :)

Live like a dog

Glory is making friends with all the pack. We are excited about how socialized she is. She seems to love everyone and is very comfortable and confident in every situation we have exposed her to so far. It's still amazing to me how forgiving such an abused animal can be.  It's like she is saying to everyone she meets...."Hello...I don't know you....but I love you anyway!"  Dogs really know how to move on and let go of the past. They live for the moment and seem to have a never ending hopeful expectation that something good is about to happen. Yeah I think we could all do well to try and live that way, don't you? :)   Have a blessed day everyone....and remember something good is about to happen to you today!

Our beautiful Destiny

We woke up this morning to fine that Destiny had past away suddenly in her sleep :( We always ask the Lord to take our dogs easily and that they don't suffer and he's always faithful to do that for them when it's there time. It's so much harder to lose one when we have to take them to the vet and have them put to sleep because they are so afraid. But I was still so shocked this morning to find her gone. In the middle of the night she woke me up to go out... something she doesn't do often and now I feel like it was her way of saying goodbye. I gave her a cookie and put her back to bed and she never made another peep. So I'm just going to remember her sweetness and thank Jesus for blessing our lives with a beautiful Destiny :)

My comfort & joy in a keleidoscope world...

Keleidoscope world ever changing.
Diamond colors dance before my eyes.
I'm filled with wonder as I behold the
gift of light that you unfold.
Yes keleidoscope world ever changing
I can still find comfort and joy in you.  ~Anna

Half Asleep

Alas, the trials and tribulations of being raised in a pack of little dogs and becoming thoroughly convinced you are one... when you are so obviously not.

We hate monkey bugs!

Soon baby soon...hang on.... just a little longer and this mange will be gone...I promise!
