True treasures found on a country drive.

Taking a ride in the country is one of my favorite things to do.
I love taken pictures of things long forgotten and left to nature. To me they are art and become part of the landscape and the history of a town.

Once upon a time someone worked hard for and dreamed of all those things above. It makes me think about the material stuff I own and how one day it will just be junk somewhere. Yes, one day our new iphone’s, our big screen TV’s…all our precious trinkets…even our homes we love and live in now will wither away. There’re definitely things we should be very thankful for but they should not be our treasures. Yes all this reminds me our treasures need to be in things that don’t perish.

But collect for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys.  Matthew 6:20

I hope that sends you on your own treasure hunt today J

  1. Oh how I wished we lived closer! I would love to have you take my son's senior pictures! All of your pictures would make really neat backgrounds for Sr pics. My friend who did take his pictures did a wonderful job. She is the nurse at the church camp he has gone to since 3rd grade and has a wonderful camera and they had a fabulous day! She took them at camp last summer.

You and she have similar taste. On a trip to NY city she found beauty in manhole covers, old buildings and random signs, not just the typical touristy pics that I would take.

    Have a beautiful day!
    Hugs,
    Anne

  2. What do they say..... "one man's trash is another man's treasure." Those are such beautiful pictures. You've really captured the heart and soul of those old buildings.

I would love that wagon wheel for my garden! Nice find on your drive.

    Hugs,
    Kim
